Emergency Responder Loss

  • Concerns of Police Survivors provides resources to help families and co-workers who have suffered the death of a family member or colleague while in the line of duty.
  • National Fallen Firefighters Foundation honors and remembers America's fallen heroes, to provide resources to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives, and work within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries.

  • A Butterfly's Journey helps individuals and families struggling with grief after the loss of a child, or other traumatic loss, to find hope and a new normal. Its grief recovery programs are associated with The Grief Recovery Method, a for-profit entity.
  • The Center for Complicated Grief is offers a listing of certified and informed therapists in complicated grief treatment. Therapists can be found in states across the nation and internationally. 
  • Cry for Me No More provides transformative services for the bereaved and help them move forward along their grief journey after a profound loss through workshops, lectures, and programs.
  • Mindfulness & Grief is dedicated to teaching mindfulness-based techniques to reduce stress, cope with grief, and cultivate personal growth.
  • The Pathways Center for Grief & Loss, part of Hospice and Community Care, supports and encourages one’s innate ability to heal and discern new paths on one’s journey through grief after the serious illness or loss of a loved one.

  • Helping After Neonatal Death is a resource network of parents, professionals, and supportive volunteers that offers a variety of services throughout Northern California and the Central Valley. 
  • Return to Zero Center for Healing helps others to find hope and healing after the death of their baby through outreach, education, research, and retreats.  
  • Violent Loss Resources provides a lifeline of hope and healing, addressing the issues of traumatic grief for those who live and work to rebuild their lives after a homicide, suicide, drunk driving, or terrorist fatality.
  • Kara provides grief support for children, teens, families and adults through grief counseling, retreats, educational resources and peer support. Kara wants to see people of all ages compassionately supported on their journey through grief so they can move toward renewed hope and meaning.

Maryland

  • Center for Infant and Child Loss is committed to assuring Maryland families facing the sudden unexpected loss of their infant or child have access to bereavement interventions, counseling, and information based on best practices and current research. 
  • Roberta's House is a safe place where children, teens and adults discover that they are not alone in their grief.

Massachusetts

  • Trauma Center is dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by trauma and adversity to re-establish a sense of safety and predictability in the world, and to provide them with state-of-the-art therapeutic care as they reclaim, rebuild, and renew their lives.

Minnesota

  • Infants Remembered in Silence is dedicated to offering support, education, and resources to parents, families, friends, and professionals on the death of a child in early pregnancy (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, etc.) or from stillbirth, premature birth, neo-natal death, birth defects, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), illness, accidents, and all other types of infant & early childhood death. 
  • Missing GRACE Foundation provides support, resources, and education to families and professional care providers when there is the loss of a baby, infertility, or an adoption challenge.

Missouri

  • Lost & Found Grief Center provides grief support services, at no charge, in a safe and supportive environment for children, young adults, and their families grieving the death of a loved one.
  • SIDS Resources connects people to programs, services and information relating to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in Missouri and surrounding counties.

New York

  • Center for Complicated Grief is dedicated to improving the lives of complicated grief sufferers through fostering continued innovative research and through public outreach that includes raising awareness of complicated grief, reducing stigma and other misconceptions, and training professionals.
  • The COPE Foundation is a grief and healing organization dedicated to helping parents and families living with the loss of a child.
  • Pregnancy Loss Support Group is part of the National Council of Jewish Women and focuses on supporting mothers and fathers who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death.

North Carolina

  • KinderMourn provides hope for bereaved parents, grieving children and teens by offering support and counseling programs, creating awareness of bereavement issues, and empowering the community to effectively assist those who have suffered an unthinkable loss.

Pennsylvania

  • Project Sweet Peas provides support for those who are experiencing the loss of a baby. They offer memory boxes, a bereavement guide, and more. 

Texas

  • Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death is a Christian, non-profit organization that reaches out to families who have suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death located in Dallas and in other southern cities.
  • Trauma Support Services of North Texas is dedicated to providing affordable professional counseling and support services for trauma survivors.

Virginia

  • Loss of Loved Ones to Sudden Tragedy (LLOST) focuses on providing support to those who have lost a loved one through helping others recognize grieving and donating memory boxes and materials to local hospitals, community service programs and activities, outreach programs, and online forums.  

Washington

Washington, D.C.

  • DC DMV Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network provides help to those who need it, fellowship, and opportunities for outreach for those who would like to be involved in the community.
  • Stop Killing Innocent People is to provide holistic community-based emotional support system, act as a link to personal development, and educational resources and strengthen commitments to social justice.
  • Wendt Center for Loss and Healing helps children, youth, and adults rebuild their emotional lives after loss, illness, violence, and trauma. 

 

International Grief Support

Bereavement Support

  • Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.
  • SANDS, a UK-based stillbirth and neonatal charity, supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, working to improve the care bereaved parents receive, and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. 

Hospice and Palliative Care

  • International Association for Hospice & Palliative Care works to improve the quality of life for those with life-threatening conditions and their families by supporting palliative care training, facilitating research and collaboration, and providing a global directory of palliative care services, hospices, and organizations.
